Using Course Prerequisites
Adding Course Prerequisites
You may use prerequisites on your course by selecting the courses you require students to complete first. Before you use a prerequisite, it may be more beneficial to use the course difficulty level so that anyone can access your course. By limiting access to your course with a prerequisite, you could miss out on potential viewership. However, on the flip side, if you have multiple courses and you set a prerequisite based on course progression as members move through your lessons and courses, this may increase viewership on your other courses and ultimately lead to much higher viewership across all your courses (by getting members to watch multiple courses).
Here are our recommendations on when to use the course prerequisites:
- If you have proprietary strategies (and / or you are using a specific trading application) and need to set a foundation for your different trading or investing courses
- If you have a series of courses that follow a logical sequence, then you may get more students and receive higher ratings on your courses due to putting customers on a defined learning path (in return each member viewing multiple courses).
- If your course is very technical in nature and even the more advanced members would significantly benefit from the prerequisites
