Subscribing to forums and notifications

Forum Notifications

There are two types of notifications available in the Traders Exchange forums:

1. Instant in-app notifications
2. Email notifications

1) Instant Notifications

You will see a bell icon next to your name and profile on the right hand side of the forum. For activity related to your questions or subscribed topics, instant notifications will appear in the bell. Simply click on it for the latest activity and click clear once you have read through your notifications. 

These notifications make it easy to track your interests and get updates on your posts. Specifically, the following instant notifications are available in the forums:

• There is a new reply in your topic
• A new a quote to your post is added
• A like to your post
• An up / down vote to your post
• @Mentions (when a user adds a comment)

Instant Notifications: Forums vs Course Dashboard

The forum instant notifications are completely separate from your Dashboard notifications since they serve two different purposes. 

1. Traders Forum notifications are only for forum related activities and for those that use the forums
2. The dashboard notifications are for the activities related to your courses and interactions with instructors

2) Email Notifications

You have the option to subscribe / unsubscribe to any of the forum email notifications as you wish. To manage your forum email notifications, click on the subscription icon under My Profile to the right of the forums. From here, you can subscribe to all new topics or topics and posts. 

Underneath these options, you will see your existing subscription options that you can quickly unsubscribe from:
