Why Duplicate A Course

The duplicate course feature allows you to quickly replicate a course, make the necessary edits, and then publish your new course. Depending on your new course, an existing course may be a good starting template to use. We have developed some recommendations and best practices for using this feature:

• If you wish to phase out an existing course because you want to make improvements, then duplicate the current course, update your lessons and content, and when it's ready publish the new course. 
  • Once it's published, let the existing members on your old course know about your new course (using the Announcements section)
  • Delete the old course. You will still have 30 days before it is automatically removed.
• If your course has been successful on Invested Pro, use it as a guide / template for your next course. Be sure to replace all content, videos, lessons, assignments, and quizzes before finalizing and publishing the new course. 
• If you plan to create a series of courses with increasing difficulty for student progression, use the duplicate course option to give yourself a starting point on the next course. 
  • Consider using the Course Title to denote it's part of a series (i.e. Part 1, Part 2, etc.)

How to Duplicate a Course

1. Hover over your profile photo on the top right of the screen
2. Navigate to the My Courses section and find the course you wish to duplicate
3. Click duplicate course and a new version of the course will open up in draft mode in the course builder

   

4. Change the course title and click save
5. The course will remain in draft mode until you are finished and click publish on the course
